Yes, from what I can understand (and from what my Spanish friends told me a while ago) the Spanish publisher of ASoIaF made this artbook to celebrate the tour GRRM did in Spain this summer. That's where I got my book signed, actually :-)

I am glad they did something like this, because I keep thinking ASoIaF is sorta poor on the artistic side. I mean, one only official artbook and even rather hard to find? WTF? Idk, I think they could do more about it - I mean, that's thousands of pages, there's plenty of stuff to be illustrated :-)

Ah, so it's already out? Sounds like it's hard to get :( But it's awesome you got an autograph. I know I'd really like one, I already covet my Terry Pratchett one.

Yeah, well, if it's any consolation, there's the companion book, and the authors seem to have commissioned a lot of cool new art (ex. Ted Nasmidt) and according to Amok's site, there's going to be a new art book. But that's going to take a while....

I'm getting a bit annoyed at the companion book thing - I mean, how long ago did they announce it? We are already being extra patient with the series itself, dammit! *pouts*

They announced it a long, long time ago. But they say that it's only going to get published after GRRM does his share. Which is after ADwD :(

I'm equally annoyed with the Dunk and Egg story. By all accounts it's pretty much finished. But they have to wait for all the other Warrior stories.

Gah, you can notice the lack of new asoiaf material on Ran's board. Everybody's basically bored out of their minds because everything's been rehashed and now there's only silly crackpot theorythreads.
