So... the new Doctor in Doctor Who has been announced and it's... Matt Smith. Never heard of him, but he's apparently the youngest Doctor-actor ever (26). Ah well, I hope he does okay, though it also depends on Steve Moffat, I suppose (but I think he's a better writer than Russel T Davies anyway). David Tennant has been a good Doctor even thought I definitely had my problems with the 10th Doctor and lost my interest in the end.
ETA: LOL at fandom_secrets for already making a 11th Doctor Wank!Bingo card. I should check out Fandom Wank tomorrow to see if anything happens.

I have only one New Year resolution this year: Make my teenage brother shave, dammit. He has this vague fuzz and it looks like he has dirt on his face. Here's an actual conversation today:

I only have one Amber book left, but I don't think that will matter much in the grand scheme of things. Unless Merlin pulls something superlame. But I definitely don't regret reading the Merlin Chronicles. I have the feeling they're higher on humour too.

Yeah, I noticed that, the discworld ones are pretty easy, there really isn't much spectacular shipping going on there (I do like Magrat/Verence and Tiffany/Roland in earlier books, because Wintersmith is the only pterry book I felt meh about)

Yeah, I was kind of meh about Wintersmith too... except for Horace the cheese, which was kind of awesome.

Well, there's Carrot/Angua, too, which I somewhat like, but more for the Carrot side of it. And I agree Magrat/Verence was quite cute. Oh, oh, and I totally forgot -- Granny/Mustrum Ridcully! Part of what makes Lords and Ladies my (I think) favorite Witches book. In fact, I should totally go add them to my answer re: het ships.

XD Well being a teenage guy who's family is also annoyed cause he is not shaving as often as he should, I feel like I should be supporting your brother, but since I'm nice I'll tell you the secret. Every day my mum says I need to shave I don't, because if I shaved then it would feel like she'd won. So if you want your brother to shave, don't tell him to shave, come with little negs instead like for example "You know the beard maybe isn't such a bad idea after all, it makes you look like *insert beardy person your brother would hate to look like*. Make his geek friend and possibly other friends do the same and he'll shave. If this does not work, nothig will, and your brother will become Santa Clause.

Yes, it's also one of my favourite myths, I especially love the Bouguereau paintings of Cupid and Psyche. But then again, I love all Bouguereau's paintings.

Yeah me too. I was rather sad none of the originol characters, save Effy and Sketch (bleäh) was going to be in next season, but it'll probably be great.

Tony does have eyes to drown in, althoug I don't like him, he's such a manipulative bitch. He should try out as appretis to Littlefinger, the world would shiver in fear.

Haha, yes. I'll be honest and say that Nicholas Hoult sometimes looks like I imagine Jon Snow, especially in this picture (http://blog.sina.com.cn/s/blog_4e6207cc01008xbd.html). But not always. Mostly I just wonder how Hoult feels acting in all those scenes, I'd be so embarrassed >.>

You know he could probably work for Jon. A bit on the old side but Jon's suppuose to be 17 in the Tv series. Not the exact way I've pictured him, but he's a good actor and could hopefully portray Snow's personality right wich is the most important.

LOL, IMO it's a process of elimination. Apollo is emo in comparison (so to speak), Ares is nasty, Hephaestus is sad and Zeus is, well, Zeus. And Hermes has cool things like winged sandals and a caduceus, not to mention the fact that he's the god of thieves. It's no surprise he's the favourite of many.

Oh, I see. I actually am not familiar with any myths about Hermes's tricks, though I vaguely knew that he was supposed to be a trickster, so he always seemed nondescript to me. So that's why I asked. :)

Ah! I see now. Well, when he was born his first action was to steal Apollo's suncows, he defeated the monster Argus by trickery, he was the one who made Apollo's lyre when he was a toddler in trade for his caduceus (which is sometimes used as a symbol for medicin, though mistakenly, haha) and if I'm not mistaken he was also the one who taught his son Pan how to masturbate because Pan wasn't getting any from nymphs (though, err, I didn't get that from my Myth book >.>)
